AO5 Public Relations Officer Southport | Hybrid Opportunity
Location: Southport, QLD (Hybrid) Assignment: 19 August 2026 – 18 December 2026 (Possible Extension) Rate: $70.27 - $76.24 per hour + Super
We are seeking an experienced AO5 Public Relations Officer to join a leading Queensland education provider on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional with strong media, stakeholder engagement, content creation, and event management experience.
The Role Reporting to the Manager, Marketing, you will play a key role in supporting reputation management, media relations, community engagement, and promotional activities. You will develop high-quality communications materials and coordinate events that strengthen stakeholder engagement and organisational visibility.
Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement public relations and communication strategies. • Provide advice on media management, public consultation, and community engagement initiatives. • Research and create high-quality written content including media releases, speeches, advertorials, social media content, and marketing collateral. • Coordinate and project manage promotional activities, open days, events, and campus functions. • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Support the delivery of public relations and promotional plans across the region. • Engage effectively with industry, business, community, and media representatives. • Promote a culture of safety, wellbeing, sustainability, and accountability.
About You To be successful, you will demonstrate: • Previous experience in public relations, communications, media, or social media roles. • Proven success developing communication plans and media strategies that support organisational objectives. • Strong project management experience delivering events and promotional activities within budget and timeframe. • Exceptional written communication skills with experience producing content across print, digital, and social media channels. • Excellent stakeholder engagement, consultation, and relationship management skills. • A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
