About this role
The Business Process Officer supports the analysis, documentation, implementation, and continuous improvement of business processes that enable the effective delivery of employment services.
The role works closely with operational, program, and policy stakeholders to support business improvement activities, contribute to change initiatives, undertake research and analysis, and deliver practical solutions that improve business performance, service delivery, and customer experience. The role supports staff operating in fast-paced environments and contributes to building operational capability through process improvement and business support activities.
Responsibilities of the Business Process Officer may include: • Support the analysis, mapping, documentation, and review of business processes to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency. • Develop and maintain process documentation, including procedures, work instructions, process maps, guidance materials, and business artefacts. • Assist in business process improvement initiatives and support the implementation of change activities across the business. • Collect, organise, analyse, and interpret data and information to support reporting, business improvement, and decision-making activities. • Support project and program activities, including planning, monitoring progress, tracking actions, and maintaining project documentation. • Prepare clear and accurate reports, briefings, correspondence, presentations, and other written materials. • Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Contribute to workshops, consultations, and stakeholder engagement activities to support business improvement outcomes. • Identify emerging issues, risks, and opportunities and escalate matters where appropriate. • Support continuous improvement activities through research, evaluation, and analysis of business processes and operational practices. • Apply relevant policies, procedures, frameworks, and business rules when undertaking work activities. • Contribute positively to team objectives and branch priorities while upholding APS Values and the APS Code of Conduct.
