About the role

Conditions for Learning (CfL) is an outward facing directorate within the Schools and Preschools Division with its core business to support sites to achieve optimum conditions for learning so they can focus on teaching and learning. The directorate works in close collaboration with a range of divisions and system leaders to support schools and preschools.

What does CfL do?

• Deliver high profile election commitments and shape key operational policy reforms

• Align and review major departmental policies and processes

• Managing protections, exemptions, camps and excursions, overseas travel, mobile phone ban, organising the school year, respond to critical incidents, governance, and provide proactive supports to sites

• Partner with sites, and Education Directors, to provide operational advice and supports, and support on the ground for critical incidents and complex issues.

The Senior Project Officer, Operations and Camps provides expert leadership in the planning, implementation and management of operational processes to deliver high-profile reforms such as the Year 7 free camps initiative within the Conditions for Learning (CfL) directorate.

The Senior Project Officer provides expert advice regarding the application of operational policy and procedures, including research, preparation of ministerial and executive correspondence, and the provision of specialist advice in a complex and dynamic setting.

Qualifications

Essential: Nil

Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in project management or similar

Special conditions

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.

The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration

ASO7 $116,089 - $125,490 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
