About the Role
Guided by the Director, the Assistant Director will take a lead role on individual policy projects as they arise such as the formulation, implementation and evaluation of best practice and evidence-based policies, procedures, programs and activities for the NDIS Commission.
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: • Prepare sound advice on current and emerging issues related to the NDIS Commission’s legislative responsibilities, including engagement with subject matter experts to develop policy and positions • Develop and maintain relationships with a large and diverse range of external stakeholders, including people with disability and representative organisations, providers, the portfolio department, and other regulatory bodies to facilitate the development of policy advice and represent the NDIS Commission more broadly • Prepare high quality written reports, briefs and correspondence for a range of strategic policy activities • Lead a learning culture where expertise can be developed and appropriately shared • Plan, manage and monitor tasks assigned to the team to ensure priorities and/or expectations are achieved within a timely and quality manner
