About our branch

The Fines Enforcement and Recovery Unit (Fines Unit) is responsible for the effective collection, resolution and enforcement of fines and other debts owed to the State. The unit plays a vital role in supporting community outcomes and contributing to the overall objectives of the Department.

The Client Engagement Officer plays a key role in resolving outstanding fines and debts by providing high-quality, professional and customer-focussed service. Working in a fast-paced environment, this role ensures timely resolution of client enquiries and supports fair and effective debt management outcomes for the community.

About the Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Respond to client enquiries via phone, email and correspondence to achieve first contact resolution

• Process payments and establish or vary payment arrangements

• Provide accurate information and support clients with disputes and enquiries

• Liaise with internal teams and external agencies to resolve client matters

• Maintain accurate records and update client information systems

• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and continuous improvement activities

• Perform general administrative tasks to support service delivery

Remuneration:

ASO2 ($66,442 - $69,504 p.a.) + 12% Superannuation

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment

• Strong communication skills with the ability to manage challenging or vulnerable client interactions

• Experience using multiple systems and databases, including Microsoft applications

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage competing priorities

• Sound judgement and ability to follow procedures, policies and legislation

• Experience handling payments or financial transactions (desirable)
