The successful applicant may be required to complete 'Foundations of CDI Course' facilitated by Clinical Documentation Improvement Australia for a fee of $5000 (5 day course). About the Role As our Clinical Documentation Specialist, you'll partner with clinicians including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals—as well as Clinical Coders, Health Information Managers, Clinical Governance and the Performance Analysis team to improve the quality and accuracy of clinical documentation. You'll deliver education, conduct documentation reviews, identify opportunities for improvement and support best-practice documentation that strengthens coding, Activity Based Funding, data quality and patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to be a pioneer within Mid North Coast Local Health District, helping establish and shape a new clinical documentation improvement function. You'll play a key role in influencing practice, building organisational capability and driving sustainable improvements that enhance patient outcomes and health service performance. About You You're an experienced healthcare professional, clinical coder or health information manager with strong clinical knowledge, a sound understanding of clinical documentation and a passion for quality improvement. You bring credibility in clinical environments and are confident engaging with doctors, nurses and allied health professionals to discuss clinical documentation, terminology and opportunities for improvement. A skilled communicator and relationship builder, you're able to educate, influence and support clinicians while navigating complex clinical conversations with professionalism and tact. You enjoy analysing information, solving problems and driving positive change through accurate clinical documentation, and are excited by the opportunity to help shape a new and evolving area of practice within the District.
