About us:

Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) delivers specialist mental health, alcohol and other drug services to more than 250,000 people across Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana. Rockhampton serves as the region's central hub, providing acute inpatient care, 24/7 Acute Care services and administration of the Mental Health Act 2016 . Additional recovery-focused services include an Adult Step-Up, Step-Down facility in Gladstone and an Adult Community Care Unit in Rockhampton, ensuring accessible, specialised support across Central Queensland.

About the role:

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based specialist mental health care to consumers, their families and carers.

• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, referral agencies and stakeholders to support consumer-focused, recovery-oriented care.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive care in line with professional standards and best practice.

• Practice independently within professional guidelines while maintaining safe, effective and accountable clinical care.

• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development, quality improvement and excellence in mental health service delivery.

About you:

• Hold a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) through AHPRA and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

• Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 is highly desirable with any relevant postgraduate qualification; Applicants without a postgraduate qualification must be willing to complete the required study within an agreed timeframe.

• Ability to provide an advanced level of care to clients with a serious mental illness including an advanced knowledge of the Queensland Mental Health Act 2016 and the National Standards for Mental Health Services.

• High level of effective interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills with the ability to effectively work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

What we offer:

• An hourly rate between $71.85 - $76.94 p.h. (including 25% casual loading)
