About this role
As a Detention Youth Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring young people are kept safe and well while they are in detention. You will be someone who:
• Encourages young people to make good decisions by promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour to help them integrate back into the community. • Helps young people understand and follow the rules of the centre. • Delivers activities that are sensitive to gender, cultural beliefs, and health needs. • Is a trusted individual young people can talk to if needed. • Regularly checks on young people during the day and night to ensure their wellbeing. • Engages young people in constructive activities.
