About Powerhouse Powerhouse Museum is located at the intersection of arts, design, science, and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues. It is the custodian of more than half a million objects of national and international significance and is considered one of the finest and most diverse collections in Australia. We are undertaking a landmark $1.3 billion infrastructure renewal program, led by the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta; expanded research and public facilities at Powerhouse Castle Hill; the heritage revitalisation of the iconic Powerhouse Ultimo; and the ongoing operation of Sydney Observatory. Duty Technician Powerhouse Parramatta | Technical Production 2X 1 year contract 1X 4 years contract Join Powerhouse Parramatta and play a key role in bringing exhibitions, programs and events to life. As a Duty Technician, you’ll support the day-to-day technical operation of the museum, ensuring exhibition audio, video, lighting, projection and broadcasting systems are working to a high standard. We are seeking three Duty Technicians to join the team: two positions on 1-year contracts and one position on a 4-year contract. Working alongside Senior Technicians and internal project teams, you’ll assist with the installation, testing, operation and pack-down of technical equipment, troubleshoot issues and help maintain the Technical Production warehouse and equipment inventory. We’re looking for a practical and collaborative technician with demonstrated experience operating audio, lighting, video, projection and broadcasting equipment, strong communication skills and the ability to manage changing priorities in a busy environment. A White Card/General Construction Induction Card and Australian Driver Licence are essential.
