About this role

Details: Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) is seeking an experienced and proactive Executive Support Officer to join a high-performing team supporting the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and key business areas within the Directorate.

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO), Clinical Systems Governance Unit (CSGU) and Office of Professional Leadership (OPL). Working in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, you will provide confidential and professional executive support, demonstrating exceptional organisational skills, sound judgement, discretion and attention to detail.

In this diverse role, you will manage the Chief Medical Officer's diary and correspondence, coordinate meetings and prepare meeting papers, organise travel arrangements, process invoices and undertake credit card reconciliations. You will also maintain records and filing systems within TRIM and Objective and contribute to the ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of office systems and processes.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders across the organisation, providing high-level administrative support to the OCMO, CSGU and OPL. This includes preparing papers, drafting minutes and correspondence, supporting recruitment activities and contributing to the delivery of business priorities. Success in this role requires the ability to manage competing deadlines, think laterally, remain adaptable and take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

HCSD is committed to building an inclusive workplace where all people are respected and valued for their contribution. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, mature age workers and people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+). Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for three months with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only. How to Apply: Please provide a pitch no longer than two pages addressing the Selection Criteria, along with a current curriculum vitae and the names of two referees (one must be a current manager). Applications should be submitted via the Apply Now button below.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved. More information can be found here ACT Closing the Gap Implementation Plan - ACT Government Transparency Portal .
