About this role

Chandler Macleod is seeking experienced Financial Accountants for an exciting labour hire opportunity within a Federal Government agency's Financial Statement Team . This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals with strong Australian Government financial reporting experience and advanced knowledge of TechnologyOne (TechOne) to contribute during a critical financial statement preparation period.

Working Arrangements • Sydney-based role with a fixed office location • Required to work five days onsite during the first week • Thereafter, a hybrid arrangement of: • 2 days in the office • 3 days working from home

About the Role: As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the agency's financial reporting obligations, month-end and year-end processes, statutory compliance, and audit activities. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience working within a Federal Government environment and possess a strong understanding of APS financial reporting frameworks and requirements.

Key Responsibilities • General ledger management, account reconciliations, and journal processing • Month-end and year-end financial close activities • Financial reporting and transaction processing using TechnologyOne (TechOne) • Preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements (BAS) • Preparation and reconciliation of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns • Management of monthly and annual actuals and cash management through CBMS • Preparation of supporting schedules, audit working papers, and financial statements using PRIMA • Supporting internal and external audit requirements • Liaising with internal stakeholders, auditors, and the Department of Finance • Ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, the PGPA Act, and Commonwealth financial reporting requirements

Essential Experience To be considered for this opportunity, you will have demonstrated experience in: • Commonwealth Government and/or APS financial accounting and reporting • TechnologyOne (TechOne), including: • Financial reporting • Transaction processing • Account reconciliations • General ledger management

• Preparation and lodgement of BAS • FBT return preparation and reconciliations • CBMS, including monthly and annual actuals and cash management • Financial statement preparation and audit support using PRIMA • Australian Accounting Standards and Commonwealth reporting frameworks • Building effective relationships with stakeholders across government
