About this role

We are seeking IT Technical Specialists to join Strategy Design and Architecture.

As an IT Technical Specialist (Infrastructure), you will provide strategic technical leadership and deep subject matter expertise in enterprise IT infrastructure, across one or more technical domains.

You will work in collaboration with Architects, internal delivery teams and IT Service Providers on elements of our IT Strategic Roadmaps, to deliver efficient and effective insourced and outsourced IT Services to the ATO. You’ll also assist program teams in procurement processes, including cost estimation, developing requirements, and technical evaluations.

In this role, you will anticipate future challenges in ATO IT requirements and position the ATO to meet these challenges, remaining up to date with IT industry and market trends and helping to incorporate them into the ATO enterprise architecture. You’ll promote and realise automation opportunities across infrastructure domains and identify, plan, and realise opportunities, whilst addressing technical debt across our technology portfolio.

Technical domain expertise in one or more of the following will be highly regarded but not essential: – Operating systems, end-user computing and enterprise platforms – Cloud, hybrid and platform services – Identity, access and authorisation management – Enterprise networking, connectivity and secure gateways – Virtualisation, compute and container platforms – Automation, infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines – Security, monitoring, backup and recovery – IT service management, operations and service reliability – Mainframe, legacy systems and modernisation initiatives
