We are committed to ensure that all our people feel respected and participate safely within a work environment without aggression, sexual harassment, discrimination and racism.Where you'll be working Northern Beaches HospitalWhat you'll be doing The Midwifery Manager is an accountable senior leader within Northern Beaches Hospital Women's, Children’s and Family Services, with responsibility for the safety, quality, governance and performance of maternity and paediatric services. The role provides professional midwifery leadership consistent with the NSW Health Policy Directive Maternity – Safety and Quality Essentials and the principles of Connecting, Listening and Responding: A Blueprint for Action – Maternity Care in NSW. The position leads and models a strong safety culture, ensuring effective clinical governance, continuous quality improvement, and consumer ‑ centred care. In addition the Midwifery Manager is responsible for nursing leadership in partnership with the Director Nursing and Midwifery to ensure Paediatric services are delivered in line with best practice standards. The Midwifery Manager actively communicates organisational commitment to safe, high ‑ quality, high ‑ value maternity and paediatric care; supports and develops clinical leaders; and ensures workforce education in safety and quality systems. The role ensures effective partnerships, and ongoing functioning of Maternity and Paediatric Safety and Quality Committees, and alignment of workforce planning and service delivery with safety, quality and organisational priorities.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:Current Midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Broad clinical midwifery and management experience at a senior level within a maternity service with demonstrated experience in operational and strategic planning activities, appropriate tertiary qualifications, or relevant work experience or a combination of study and work experience. Demonstrated ability to implement contemporary models of care within a maternity service, with the aim of improving continuity, collaboration and care coordination for women to improve outcomes and the experience for women and their families'.
