The Nurse Manager, Cancer Services is responsible for the operational leadership, coordination and management of cancer services across Shoalhaven Hospital and the Milton Ulladulla Cancer Care Centre within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Cancer and Haematology Network (ISCaHN). The position is accountable for supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred and efficient cancer care services through collaborative partnerships across multidisciplinary teams and internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include leadership and management of nursing, administrative and support staff; operational coordination of service delivery; workforce management; patient flow and capacity oversight; and the implementation of clinical governance, quality improvement and service development initiatives. The Nurse Manager works collaboratively with the Co-Directors of Cancer Services, Nursing Unit Managers and broader operational and clinical leadership teams to ensure effective clinical, financial and human resource management across the service. The role provides leadership to support integrated, sustainable and contemporary cancer service delivery across the Shoalhaven region and models the CORE Values of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital is the main referral hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical, mental health and orthopaedic services. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on ventilated, high dependency and coronary patients, Children’s Ward and Maternity Unit, as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre. The hospital is currently undergoing a significant $440M redevelopment that will redefine how healthcare is delivered within the Region. Once complete in 2026, the new seven-storey Acute Services Building and refurbishments on the current hospital site will bring a focus on career development. allowing you to grow your career, acquire new skills and advance professionally as the hospital continues to develop.
