Annual salary starting at $85,323.45 + Statutory Superannuation (General Officer, Level 3)
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is an inner eastern metropolitan Council, nestled on the outskirts of the CBD. The area enjoys a reputation as one of Adelaide’s most desirable places to live, work, study, and visit.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced office coordinator/administrator to join our City Services Unit and contribute towards keeping the Council’s Works Depot’s day-to-day office and administrative operations running smoothly and efficiently. We are looking for an initiative-taking individual who takes ownership of their work and is enthusiastic about improving systems and processes.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, City Services, the Office & Administration Coordinator is responsible for coordinating customer enquiries and supporting the day-to-day administrative and office operations of the Council’s Works Depot in Glynde. The role helps ensure the depot operates smoothly by maintaining effective communication, information flow and administrative systems.
Key responsibilities include supporting financial processes such as procurement, purchase orders, invoice processing, supplier liaison and general ledger allocations. The position also assists operational staff with inventory, deliveries, depot supplies and other day-to-day requirements.
About You
To be successful in this position you will be a self-motivated, autonomous and collaborative employee that possesses the following essential skills and experience:
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an administration, office coordination, business support or similar role
• Proven experience coordinating administrative processes, office operations, customer enquiries and business support functions
• Well-developed ability to prepare and maintain correspondence, reports, meeting agendas, minutes and administrative documentation
• Experience managing financial administration processes, including purchase orders, invoice processing, petty cash and general ledger allocations
• Demonstrated capability to support procurement and operational activities, including supplier liaison, inventory control, depot supplies management, records administration and general operational support
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Proficient computer skills using Microsoft 365 (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Although not essential, the following experience would be highly regarded:
• Local or State Government experience
• Certificate in Administration, Business Administration, Frontline Management or Project Management
• Experience using Enterprise Management and/or Electronic Records Management systems, including Civica Authority, Objective ECM, Skytrust or similar platforms
• Working knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999
