About this role

• Temporary part-time opportunity (64 hours per fortnight) Parental Leave

About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced pharmacist to lead Barwon Health's medicines strategy and formulary management. Working closely with multidisciplinary stakeholders, you will oversee the organisation's medication formulary, support the Medicines and Therapeutics Committee, and provide expert advice to ensure the safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines. This role also plays a key part in procurement strategies, medication shortage management, quality improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of pharmacy reporting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Support the culture of safe and quality use of medicines across Barwon Health through auditing and monitoring and delivering education.

• Contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives

• Implementation of the Barwon Health Smart Pumps Drug Libraries for Colac Area Health

• Ensure the review and alignment of Colac Area Health clinical support resources with the Barwon Health dataset.

What we're looking for

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA and significant hospital pharmacy experience.

• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in safety and quality initiatives including medication safety.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement

• Sound knowledge of drug dose preparation and administration and familiarity with smart pump implementation framework
