Attending the Interview • Bring along any supporting documents, if required. • Arrive 15 minutes early to read through the interview questions and prepare your responses. • The recruitment panel consists of at least two members. Interviews follow a set format to ensure equity and fairness to each applicant. • Interviews range from 30 minutes to 1 hour in duration depending on the role. Further Assessment • After the interview, People Services may contact your referees to conduct a Reference Check • For some roles a medical and/or drug & alcohol screen maybe undertaken • For some senior or specialty roles further selection testing may be undertaken such as skills assessment tests, emotional intelligence tests and/or cognitive ability tests. • For some roles a police check and/or Working with Children Check will be required. • All successful candidates will need to provide 100 points of ID and proof of their working rights in Australia.

Outcome • The successful candidate will be verbally offered the position, on acceptance they are given a written Offer of Employment. • Once they accept, the other interviewed candidates will be advised by phone call and all other candidates will be advised by email.

Place Lead

Position Type: permanent full-time Salary: Level 7 being $102,391 – $108,637 per annum About this Opportunity The Place Lead is a dynamic community-focused leadership role responsible for driving the co-design and delivery of place-based initiatives within a designated area of the City of Kalamunda. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Place Lead builds strong relationships with residents, businesses, schools, community groups and visitors to understand the unique identity, strengths, challenges and aspirations of their Place Area. Using these community insights, the Place Lead translates ideas into practical programs, projects, activations and improvements that strengthen local identity, foster inclusion and participation, enhance community connection, and contribute to vibrant and thriving neighbourhoods. Key responsibilities for this position: • Demonstrated experience in place-based initiatives, with a strong focus on community engagement, activation, and co-design, including the ability to build relationships and work effectively with diverse community stakeholders. • Ability to research and analyse local data, demographics, and community insights to inform planning, project design, and strategic decision-making. • Detailed knowledge of community development, including asset-based community development principles, and demonstrated experience in identifying and leveraging community strengths, networks, and opportunities. • Experience using creative and inclusive engagement methods to reach people who may not participate in traditional consultation. • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work across internal teams and external partners to influence positive strategic and infrastructure outcomes. • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends to attend events or deliver programs. • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with residents, community groups, businesses, service providers and internal teams.

About the Benefits This position offers a salary of Level 7 being $102,391 – $108,637 per annum, (depending on experience and skill level) plus superannuation.

Risk Management Advisor

About this Opportunity The Risk Management Advisor is a newly established position that will play a pivotal part in strengthening the City's governance, assurance and organisational resilience frameworks. Reporting to Manager Governance, the position is responsible for coordinating and continuously improving the City's risk management systems, ensuring that strategic, operational and project risks are identified, assessed, monitored and reported effectively. The role provides specialist advice and guidance to managers and staff across the organisation, promotes a positive risk culture, and supports informed decision-making through the application of contemporary risk management principles and best practice standards. Working collaboratively across all areas of the organisation, the position will drive continuous improvement in governance, compliance, risk management and organisational performance. Key experience and knowledge required for this position: 1. Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 31000: Risk management principles and frameworks 2. Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 22301 Security and resilience – Business Continuity Management systems 3. Demonstrated experience in implementing Risk Frameworks; 4. Director Infrastructure

Position Type: Full Time, Contract Salary: $238,000 per annum + superannuation. About this Opportunity This position reports directly to the CEO and forms part of the Kalamunda Leadership Team. This role will ensure that through contemporary management and the maximisation of available resources that the Infrastructure Directorate are administered strategically, effectively, and efficiently. Beyond leading the Infrastructure Directorate, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the entire organisation, working collaboratively across directorates to drive organisational performance, innovation and cultural excellence. The portfolio is fascinating and diversified that includes planning and delivering capital works for large civil and construction projects, asset maintenance, parks and environmental management, waste and fleet management. About You We are looking for a strategic thinker with a background in delivering services to the community, preferably in a Local Government setting. You have the capability to shape and manage strategies, build productive relationships, demonstrate personal integrity and self-awareness, communicate and influence effectively and achieve results. Hours of Work This is a full-time contract position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight with a requirement to work outside of normal business hours to meet the obligations of attending Council and other after-hours events. Location The role is located at the Operations Centre, 10 Raymond Road, Walliston with free parking, and close to local amenities. About the Benefits This position offers a competitive salary of $238,000 per annum plus superannuation. Natural Areas Technical Officer

Closing Date: 5pm Sunday, 16 August 2026 Position Type: Permanent, Full Time Salary: $93,063 - $100,087 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) + superannuation. About this Opportunity As the Natural Areas Technical Officer, you will coordinate and deliver on-ground environmental projects and community initiatives that protect, restore and enhance the City’s natural assets. Working under the direction of the Coordinator Natural Areas, you will support the delivery of environmental projects across reserves, wetlands, waterways and natural areas. You will also provide technical advice, pursue grant funding and help increase community awareness and participation through programs such as Friends Groups, Adopt-a-Patch and Plants for Residents. In this role, you will: Coordinate environmental projects from planning through to completion • Deliver projects across bushland, wetlands, waterways and reserves • Support revegetation, biodiversity and natural resource management initiatives • Work with Friends Groups, schools, volunteers and community organisations • Prepare grant applications and manage funded projects through to acquittal • Provide technical environmental advice to internal and external stakeholders • Coordinate environmental education and community awareness activities • Collect data, monitor outcomes and contribute to environmental reporting

About You This is an exciting opportunity for an environmental professional who enjoys combining technical knowledge with practical project delivery and community engagement. You are organised, collaborative and comfortable managing competing priorities. You can build strong working relationships with community groups, volunteers, schools, contractors and colleagues while maintaining a clear focus on environmental outcomes. To be successful in this role, you will have: Relevant experience in environmental management or natural resource management • Strong knowledge of environmental and conservation practices • Understanding of relevant environmental legislation • Experience delivering environmental projects from planning to completion • Strong community engagement, consultation and relationship-building skills • Well-developed written communication and report-writing capability • Experience collecting and analysing data to measure program effectiveness • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or an equivalent discipline • A current WA C or C-A class driver’s licence

Selection Criteria • Extensive experience in environmental technical works • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental and conservation practices • Understanding of relevant environmental legislation • Highly developed verbal and written communications skills, including interpersonal skills, report writing, consultation, correspondence, negotiation and meeting participation skills with the ability to relate to all sections of the community, internal departments and external agencies. • Proven ability to provide excellence in customer service and work with the City’s Friends Groups, community members and local school community. • Ability to collect and utilise data to report on outcomes and analyse program effectiveness. • Proven ability to deliver environmental projects from conception to acquittal Highly developed ability to self-manage and prioritise work in a timely and flexible manner to achieve outcomes. • High standard of computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
