About this role

You see the big picture, you’ve always worked on a grand scale, and now you’re ready to re-focus on grand impact. You’re called upon to help decision makers identify the options that best match their objectives. This is your opportunity to deliver exceptional services to the people of NSW, create innovative solutions, and foster strong partnerships. In this role, you'll: Be hands on, lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing activities, providing expert advice and leadership across the procurement lifecycle to deliver value-for-money, compliant and commercially sound outcomes. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across Transport for NSW to develop sourcing strategies, manage complex procurement projects and support informed decision-making. Drive complex tender and market engagement activities, including procurement planning, RFx development, evaluation processes, supplier negotiations and contract establishment. The role requires management of multiple procurement projects simultaneously, often involving high-value and strategically significant acquisitions. Build strong relationships across the business while providing strategic procurement advice, managing procurement risks and supporting the delivery of procurement outcomes that align with government frameworks, policies and organisational objectives. You'll also lead and mentor procurement professionals, contributing to capability development and fostering a collaborative team environment. Note: This role is a temporary fixed term opportunity until June 2027. For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack. About you To be successful in this role, you'll bring: Extensive experience delivering complex procurement and sourcing activities, with a strong preference for candidates who bring procurement experience within the direct procurement and minor construction environment. Experience leading large-scale procurement projects, complex tenders and acquisitions will be highly regarded. Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, policies and frameworks, combined with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and provide commercially sound advice. Experience working within government procurement environments will be advantageous, although candidates from comparable large and complex organisations are encouraged to apply. Highly developed negotiation, sourcing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build credibility with senior leaders, manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience leading or mentoring procurement professionals and influencing successful commercial outcomes is essential. This role is based in Parramatta and offers flexible hybrid working, with regular collaboration across our Sydney CBD and Macquarie Park offices. Candidates must be Sydney Metro based.
