The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is seeking talented APS Level 6 Program and Policy Officers to help deliver initiatives that make a meaningful difference to the lives of Australians.
In this role, you will work across diverse portfolios to develop policy, manage programs, provide strategic advice, lead projects and build productive relationships with stakeholders. You'll contribute to complex and rewarding work that supports government priorities and drives positive outcomes for individuals, families and communities across Australia.
We are looking for proactive and collaborative professionals with strong judgement, excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complexity and deliver results in a fast-paced environment. You will be comfortable building partnerships, solving problems and contributing to high-performing teams.
A merit pool may be established from this process and used to fill future similar ongoing and non-ongoing APS Level 6 vacancies across the department for up to 18 months from the date this role was advertised on APS Jobs.
• Building and sustaining productive relationships by communicating clearly, respectfully and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, and responding appropriately to differing perspectives. • Analysing and synthesising information by drawing together research, data and stakeholder input to draft clear and well-structured policy materials, briefings and presentations, seeking support when required. • Supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and initiatives. • Demonstrating accountability for work outcomes by delivering accurate, high-quality work within agreed timeframes, proactively progressing tasks and seeking guidance when risks, gaps or uncertainties arise. • Planning and prioritising effectively by organising work, managing competing deadlines and adjusting priorities in response to changing requirements in a complex and high-pressure environment. • Contributing positively to team outcomes by working collaboratively, sharing information, supporting colleagues and drawing on the diverse strengths of the team. • Undertaking other duties in line with the APS 6 Work Level Standards as required.
