About the role * Xavier 8 North is a surgical ward, supporting patients across specialties including orthopaedics, plastic surgery, urology, and gynaecology. * Deliver specialised post-operative care for patients following elective and emergency procedures, including those transferred from ICU after complex surgery or trauma. * Evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and diverse cultural backgrounds, including individuals, families, and communities. * Develop and apply essential surgical nursing skills to ensure patient safety and continuity of care from admission through to discharge. * Work collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team while also demonstrating autonomy and clinical independence in practice. About you * Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency. * Demonstrated experience working in an acute hospital setting, prior surgical experience is advantageous. * Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice. * Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment. * Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
