Lead with purpose. Shape progress for a growing city. Leadership at Blacktown City means more than managing teams. It’s about shaping how one of Australia’s fastest-growing and most diverse communities operates today and grows into the future. Help create a safer workplace for thousands of Council employees every day. As Senior Coordinator Safety, you lead Council’s WHS team and drive the systems, programs and initiatives that support physical safety, mental wellbeing and organisational compliance. You mentor and develop a team of safety professionals, analyse incident and risk data, manage investigations, review safety performance and oversee improvements to Council’s WHS management systems. You work closely with leaders across the organisation, providing expert advice, delivering training and supporting practical solutions to workplace risks. A key part of the role is leading psychosocial safety initiatives. You provide our leaders with assistance to assess workplace stressors, manage psychosocial risks, and promote a culture where employees feel supported and safe at work. The work you do directly impacts employees across Council. By improving safety systems, addressing risks and supporting both physical and psychological wellbeing, you help create a workplace where people can perform their roles safely and return home safely each day. This role suits an experienced WHS leader with strong leadership skills and a track record of improving safety outcomes, developing teams and driving positive workplace culture. At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with: • a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils • an entry level salary commencing at $2,851.62 per week • a 35-hour working week • a car allowance • access to Council's flextime arrangement • 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements • ongoing training and development support • access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
