About this role

As the Senior Investigator , you will lead and conduct complex environmental investigations involving serious or high-level offences under legislation.

This includes:

• Leading investigations using specialist technical, scientific and expert evidence.

• Conducting interviews, taking witness statements and formal records of interview.

• Executing search warrants and exercising statutory and regulatory powers.

• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.

• Conducting site inspections, execute search warrants and manage evidence in accordance with legislative and evidentiary requirements.

• Preparing high quality briefs of evidence where litigation is a likely outcome.

• Effectively using the electronic case management system to manage investigations and evidence.

• Working closely with legal officers to support litigation and court related outcomes.

• Applying risk and project management principles to deliver investigations efficiently within prescribed timeframes.

• Provide specialist advice, guidance and support to team members.

• Summoning, preparing and supporting witnesses for court proceedings.

• Plan and prioritise investigative activities, including task allocation, timeframe management, travel efficiency, data capture and evidence management.

• Lead by example in safe work practices and the lawful, safe conduct of investigative operations.

• Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace that is free from bullying, discrimination and harassment.
