In this role, you'll: Working as part of the Platform Management team delivering technology products and services across Transport for NSW, this is a genuine growth opportunity for a senior cloud or DevOps engineer ready to take the next step into solution architecture. You will bring your technical depth in AWS and Azure into the world of platform and cloud solution design, starting close to the engineering coalface and building toward shaping the architecture, standards, and roadmap that keep our platforms scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective. Initially, your focus will be on platform-related solution design and assurance: contributing to the design of cloud and platform solutions, reviewing designs for architectural fit and compliance, and supporting complex infrastructure, network, and security decisions within an enterprise-scale, hybrid, multi-cloud environment. You will apply your practical experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation and modern DevOps practices to help bridge the gap between infrastructure, security, and software engineering. As you build confidence and track record in solution design, you will be supported to broaden your scope and grow into a T-shaped Solution Architect role spanning our wider BPM, Integration and business applications landscape. For more information on this position and business unit, view the role description and information pack About you To thrive in this role, you bring design experience in AWS and/or Azure, practical exposure to Infrastructure as Code and automation, and a solid grounding in container platforms such as AKS, EKS, or service meshes. You are comfortable with, or keen to build on, DevSecOps practices, security posture management, and FinOps thinking, ideally gained in a complex or regulated environment, and you can communicate clearly with both engineers and stakeholders. Relevant cloud certifications are highly regarded, and any exposure to Enterprise AI platforms, such as Microsoft Foundry, is a strong plus. Above all, we are looking for curiosity and drive: an engineer who wants to understand the "why" behind the designs they build, who is ready to move beyond ticket-based delivery into shaping solutions, and who is genuinely motivated to grow their career toward solution architecture.
