Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 (CNC1) means:a registered nurse appointed as such to a position approved by the Health Service, who has at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the Health Service. Selection Criteria * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Driver’s License (if required by service). * Minimum five years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience and/or a post graduate qualification in field of practice. * Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice. * Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice. * Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research. * Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning. * Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems. * Ability to apply clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
